Mary Davis in Haiti Emails (& if specified as texts, of her newsletters) reports to keep you current about Mary's ministry in Torbeck/Les Cayes/Roche-a-bateau area Haiti line1st--- line#2----------- date, time report detail =====January MARY DAVIS EMAIL REPORT 2/22/24 6:16pm Our God answers prayer[s]. We keep our faith in Him now and forever. Thank you for prayers on behalf of Haiti. Our Zoom meeting with Prison Fellowship International went fine even though the internet cut out 4 times. Five members of Haiti: Evangelism in Action were there: Pastor Jean Chery, Pastor Wilfrid Prince, Brother and Mrs. Jacquelin Lessage and myself. We go on to Phase 2 questions concerning the prison situation in Haiti which is poor. We are to prayerfully consider and answer those questions. We continue to contact other churches and missions in southwest Haiti to consider to participate. Our goal is to bring prisoners to Christ for restoration of themselves & with their families so that they might not be criminals anymore. This is no easy task in the poorest country in the western hemisphere, but our God is able. Praise the Lord. Let's not forget to pray for Israel, God's chosen people. Gal 3:26 "For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus." v.29 "And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise." Let's not forget to pray for revival in America. And revival comes from prayer. That is the only hope for America. Proverb 14:34 "Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people." Only God can forgive the sin of America if we repent of our sin and sincerely turn back to Him. Only God can turn things around for America in midst of judgment on our national sins of making law what is against the law and God's purpose of love and obedience to Him and love for one another. Money and prosperity is not a god that can save us from "the wrath of God to come". It was God Himself who turned things around for Judah and Israel in the days of Jeremiah. Israel had been taken into captivity by Assyria 135 years before Judah fell in the same sins of idolatry and was taken captive to Babylon in 586 BC. In Jeremiah 32:27, God answered Jeremiah's prayer, "Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for Me? Jeremiah brought the news that Jerusalem would be destroyed because of the evil of the people, but God would again restore it in v-37-42: "Behold, I will gather them out of all countries, whither I have driven them in My anger, and in My fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell safely: And they shall be My people, and I will be their God: And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear Me for ever, for the good of them, and of their children after them: And I will make an Everlasting Covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from Me. Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with My whole heart and with My whole soul." What if we are in the time of the end and America does not repent and turn back to God? Dr. David Jeremiah gives Christians, "The Church", some direction in His book, The World at the End. Enclosed is a summary. I pray THe Word of God enclosed would be a blessing and comfort as we live our fullest for the pleasure and glory of our loving, holy, just God who has everything under His sovereign care and justice. Blessings and Comfort in Him, Mary [see the article in text only: DJeremiah-TheWorldoftheEnd.txt at https:aprayernotebook.net/each1helps1/docs/DJeremiah-theWorldoftheEnd.txt] == 2/6/2024 12:29pm Gen 24:27 "I being in the way, the LORD led me.." Thank you for prayers for the hungry and poor of Haiti including 850 prisoners in overcrowded conditions in Les Caye Prison and in regard to the turmoil in Haiti. But for the grace of God do we live like that. Because of protests all over Haiti, blocking roads to shut down the country, we have not been able to do much. Yet we can always pray and study God's Word and praise and thank Him for all His goodness to us. The people are demanding that the prime minister, who apparently does nothing about the economic situation or violence, abdicate by Feb 7. The people are tired of the way they have to live in this country in anarchy, with no apparent government or security, minimal available gasoline or propane for cooking which they need to make bread to sell. In Port-au-Prince, the capital there has been violence, killing, taking people's homes, kidnapping, rape of women and highway robbery with weapons and tanks on the only road to Port-au-Prince escalating for over two years and nobody does anything about it. This causes a shortage of needed supplies and very high prices of what is here. Gasoline is 1000 goude or $8.00 a gallon. It's an evil scourge on the country. There is much suffering. There also is much suffering in the prisons. So I thank you for praying for an opportunity to bring a prison ministry to Haiti. Dorestela Medina, Senior Regional Director of Prison Fellowship International, Latin America & Caribbean Region, would like to consider to partner with us, "Haiti: Evangelism in Action" and with our network of pastors in the southwest Departments of Haiti as a start to a national prisoner restoration prison ministry for Haiti. We are in the process of answering introductory questions for their consideration. When Pastor Prince and I visited the prison, we encouraged the 850 prisoners in approximately 16 cells not to give up hope, but trust in God, to come to God His way, through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. One prisoner started holding a worship service in his cell. I believe God is answering our prayers. We just need to be a vessel God can work through to bless others. We pray for the situation in America too and God's sovereign will in our coming election. Our God is in control! Here are some verses of encouragement: Daniel 2:20-21 " Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are His: And He changeth the times and the seasons: He removeth kings and setteth up (raiseth up) kings: He giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know (have) understanding." Daniel 4:3 Nebuchadnezzar, Gentile king of Babylon said of our God: "How great are His signs! and how mighty are His wonders! His kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and His dominion is from generation to generation." Psalm 145:13 "Thy kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and thy dominion endureth throughout all generations." 17 "The LORD is righteous in all His ways, and holy in all His works." 18 "The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon Him, to all that call upon Him in truth." 19 "He will fulfill the desire of them that fear Him: He also will hear their cry, and will save them." 20 "The LORD preserveth all them that love Him: but all the wicked will He destroy." 21 "My mouth shall speak the praise of the LORD: and let all flesh bless His holy name for ever and ever." PTL. Your Sister in Christ, Mary == 1/26/24 7:13PM Email Report God opens a new window of ministry. == Greetings family and ministry partners. I do so thank you for prayers, expressions of sympathy and contributions especially those made in memory of my sister, Christine Lanyon, who passed into eternity Nov 13,2023. I was very blessed to spend Christmas with family in Fort Myers and Gospel Baptist Church in Bonita Springs, Florida, and then a week with Pat Lanyon family in E Hartford Connecticut and Truth Baptist Church in S Windsor, whom I praise the Lord for as they care for Pat, David and Joseph in their grief, as they grieve with them for the loss of a faithful servant and sister of the Lord there. I returned to Les Cayes, Haiti Jan 25,2024. I'm looking forward to visiting a closed church, reopened by Pastor Prince through evangelism in the area, with over 30 people accepting Christ in that area and starting a discipleship class for them on Sunday. We are continuing evangelism on Tuesday and Thursday and continuing to provide Encouraging Evangelism seminars, crusades, tracts, and Bibles as well as setting up a regular day for prison ministry. In the past we reported dire need in Les Cay prison of 850 people crowded in approximately 16-20 cells. I felt led to contact Prison Fellowship for guidance and help. This is the response: == Dear Christian friends, My name is Mary Davis. I am from Mansfield Baptist Temple in Mansfield Ohio. After I went on a short term mission trip toTorbeck area SW of Les Cayes in South department of Haiti in 2013 & 2014, to share the gospel of Jesus Christ, I was invited by a Haitian pastor-translator, Pastor Wilfrid Prince to continue to be involved in evangelism in Haiti. I prayed and said, "If God could use me here I was willing to come." Since June 4th 2014, we have since been involved in sharing the gospel, encouraging churches to have evangelism programs & ministering in crusades. As much as possible we have helped provide gospel tracts and Bibles. We have seen over 5000 decisions in this time. This past summer, Pastor Prince led his church, Assembly of Redeemed of Jesus Christ, in KaHouck in a ministry to feed the prisoners in the Les Cayes prison of 850 prisoners one time from a contribution from friends in America. They prepared the food and served it. We were not allowed to take pictures inside. But we saw the 850 prisoners crowded into approximately 16 hot cells. They rarely got food unless relatives provided the food or spent money for it. We found out they needed soap for bathing. Again we provided soap, toothpaste & brush and shampoo with gospel tract to all prisoners one time. If they need medical attention, they can see a nurse, but cannot have it until they can pay for it. We are most involved in evangelism and saw some decisions there for Christ as we gave the gospel to every cell. However, even though we are not able to carry on a full prison ministry there, how could we just walk away? So I am looking for an ongoing prison ministry in Haiti, particularly in Les Cayes and advice on what to do in this dire situation. I have letters from 75 prisoners asking for help. Thank you for your consideration and direction as the Lord leads. Mary Davis In states through Jan 24 at 239-291-8362. Lord willing, the plan is to return to Haiti Jan 25th. Your sister in Christ, Mary Davis == 3:11 PM 3/28/2024 Mary 2024 Texts/Emails ===== Why did Jesus have to die? Can you imagine the disciples sadly celebrating their Passover that Saturday evening? They had had such hope for the future even in the midst of misery and uncertainty, the results of sin for all time through all ages. Is it any different now? Trama? Conflict? Violence? Divisions? But Jesus had given so much hope. John 1:23 John the Baptist prepared the way. "He said, 'I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the LORD', as said the prophet Isaiah." In John 1:29, when John the Baptist saw Jesus, by the Holy Spirit, He said, "Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world." In John 1:45 As Jesus was calling to Himself the first disciples, Philip found Nathanael and had said to him, "We have found Him, of whom Moses in the law, and prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph. v-48 Nathanael saith unto Him [Jesus], 'How knowest Thou me?' Jesus answered and said unto him, 'Before that Philip called thee, when thou was under the fig tree, I saw thee.' v-49 Nathanael answered and said unto Him, 'Rabbi,Thou art the Son of God; Thou art the King of Israel.'" In John 3:17 "For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. v-19 And this is the condemnation, that Light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil." In John 4:24 Jesus spoke to a Samaritan woman, "God is a Spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and truth. v-25 The woman said unto Him, I know that Messiah cometh, which is called Christ: when He is come, He will tell us all things. v-26 Jesus said unto her, I that speak unto you am He." In John 6:48 Jesus said, 'I am the bread of life.'" Afterward many disciples were turning from Jesus and in v-67 "Then said Jesus unto the twelve, 'Will ye also go away?' v-68 -69 Then Simon Peter answered Him, 'Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that Thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.'" John 8:12 "Then spoke Jesus again unto them, saying, 'I am the Light of the world: he that followeth Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.'" John 10:11 "I am the good Shepherd: the good Shepherd giveth His life for the sheep." John 10:30 "I and My Father are One." In John 11:25, Jesus said to Martha, "I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believes in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: v-26 And whosoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Blievest thou this? v-27 She saith unto Him, Yea Lord: I believe that Thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world." In John 12:13 When Jesus was coming to Jerusalem, "[the people] took branches of palm trees, and went forth and cried, 'Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel, that cometh in the name of the Lord." Later in v-23 Jesus said, "The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified." v-24 "Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abides alone; but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit." v-46-47 "I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on Me should not abide in darkness. .. I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world." In John 14:6, Jesus said,"I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by Me." John 15:5 " I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abides with Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit for without Me you can do nothing." John 16:33 "These things I have spoken unto you, that in Me you might have peace. IN the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." That Saturday evening was one of great grief and despair. What now? Why did Jesus have to die? It was so unfair; so terrible; so devastating. They didn't understand yet. Why did Jesus have to die? To pay our debt for sin: Eternal death, which separates all mankind from a holy just yet loving God forever. 1Peter 3;18 "For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh.." John 20:31 "But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through His name." === email update for 4/27/2024, Saturday =="Redeeming the Time because the days are evil." Eph 5:16 Dear friends and family, How are you? I pray you are fine and blessed in the Lord. Thank you for prayers for Haiti. I continue to pray for God's will in Haiti. I pray that would include stopping the violence in Port-au-Prince where they destroy people's homes, livelihood, hospitals, schools as well as rape, kidnap and kill these dear people whom God loves, Jesus died for and Holy Spirit would comfort, guide, and bring under conviction to be right with Him. Praise the Lord, though difficult, we survive in other parts of Haiti. A destitute family of five came to live at the same house where I live. Hard situations just to survive have become harder. A mother of two was killed in Port-Au-Prince a couple of weeks ago. The two children were sent to a family of five in Les Cayes. The prison of 850 detainees here in Les Cayes continues to need contributions of food. Some are dying of TB and lack of food. We contribute and try to visit every Friday to share hope of the Gospel and pray with them. We believe many are turning to the Lord in their dilemma. We encourage them to be right with God through faith in Jesus Christ, so that if they die, they would be with Him in His eternal heavenly place. We have given hundreds of Gospel tracts and John and Romans We could not visit this Friday because the employees were protesting not being paid for many months. Supposedly, we can get back in next Friday. So instead we had a meeting to discuss future prison ministry. The inmates have listened intently and requested Bibles. I propose to put a Haitian Creole Bible in each of the 19 cells at a total cost of $400.00. We are going to work on a budget for all 15 prisons in Haiti. One at a time as the Lord leads and Blesses. And God has blessed with a partnership with Pastor Chavannas Jeune, former MEBSH president, former LIPAS president and founder of World Missionary Vision and also Global Mission of the Kingdom including 416 missions in Haiti and 27 countries. He has a heart for a prison ministry for all fifteen prisons in Haiti. Yes Praise the Lord. If anyone wants to see what prison is like in Haiti Youtube has a documentary you could watch called Prisons from Hell: Haiti & Madagascar. I said at a meeting of Global Mission of the Kingdom, "If Haiti has the worst prisons in the world, we ought to try and do something about it." So, we are still very involved in evangelism other than evangelism in the prison with at least 80 decisions there. In door to door and on the street we have distributed tracts and John and Romans and seen over 50 decisions this year, have distributed tracts for other churches to use in their evangelism and conducted seminars encouraging evangelism as God opens opportunities for us. We see that the situation in Haiti would not slow down God's work but inspire more. Thank you for prayers, gospel materials and Bibles to distribute. May God bless us each, every one, Amen. Mary == Enclosed is message from the Bible to inspire us and leaders of our country. ===== “Not by Might, Not by Power, but by My Spirit saith the Lord of Hosts” Zechariah 4:6 How the ruler of a nation leads that nation makes all the difference in the outcome for that nation. Here we look at the heart of two kings which determined how they led their nation & their outcomes. 2Ki 17:1 “In the twelfth year of Ahaz, king of Judah, Hoshea the son of Elah became king of Israel in Samaria, and he reigned nine years. And he did evil in the sight of the LORD..” In v-7-8 "For so it was that the children of Israel had sinned against the LORD their God, who had brought them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and they had feared other gods & walked in the statutes of the nations whom the LORD had cast out from before them.” In v-12 “For they served idols, of which the LORD had said to them, “You shall not do this thing. In v-23 ..So Israel was carried away from their own land to Assyria, as it is to this day. In 2Ki 18:1-3. “Now it came to pass in the third year of Hoshea the son of Elah, king of Israel, that Hezekiah the son of Ahaz, king of Judah, began to reign. He was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father David had done. v-4 'He removed the high places.' In v-5 'He trusted in the LORD God of Israel, so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor were there before him.” v-7 “The LORD was with him; he prospered wherever he went.” In v-13, In the fourteenth year of King Hezekiah, Sennacherib king of Assyria came up against all the fortified cities of Judah and took them. Hezekiah gave him of the treasuries of the king’s house and stripped the gold from the doors and pillars of the LORD’s house. Even so, the king of Assyria sent Tartan and Rabsaris and Rabshakeh from Lachish to King Hezekiah with a great host against Jerusalem. In 2Ki 18:19 Rabshakeh said, “Speak ye now to Hezekiah, Thus says the great king, the king of Assyria, ‘What confidence Is this wherein you trust?’” v-32 “..Hearken not unto Hezekiah, when he persuades you saying, ‘The LORD will deliver you.’” v-35 Who are they among all the gods of the countries, that have delivered their country out of my hand, that the LORD should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?” In 2Ki 19:1, 6-7 And it came to pass when King Hezekiah heard it, that he tore his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth and went into the house of the LORD. He sent Eliakim, who was over the household, Shebna the scribe & the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth to Isaiah the Prophet, who brought word from the Lord, “Be not afraid of the words which thou has heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed Me. Behold, I will send a spirit upon him, and he shall hear a rumor, and shall return to his own land; And I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.” When the king of Assyria sent messengers with a threatening letter to King Hezekiah, v-14 Hezekiah went up into the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD and prayed. v-19 “...‘Now therefore, O LORD our God, I beseech Thee, save Thou us, out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that Thou art the LORD God, even Thou only.' v-34-35 The LORD answered 'For I will defend this city to save it, for My own sake, and for My servant David’s sake.’ And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians 185,000..” At that time, we saw King Hoshea of Israel who led Israel in evil in the sight of the LORD taken in captivity by Assyria. We also saw Hezekiah, king of Judah lead the nation of Judah in what was right in the eyes of the Lord. also besieged by the king of Assyria, go in prayer and was delivered by God. Proverb 14:34 “Righteousness exalts a nation: but sin is a reproach (shame) to any people.” In 2Ki 17:35-39 For God had said to Israel, “With whom the LORD had made a covenant & charged them saying, Ye shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them. But the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, Him shall ye fear, and Him shall ye worship, and to Him shall ye do sacrifice. And the statutes, and the ordinances, and the law, and the commandment, which He wrote for you, ye shall observe to do for evermore; and ye shall not fear other gods. And the covenant that I have made with you ye shall not forget; neither shall ye fear other gods. The LORD your God ye shall fear; and He shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.” == This was a promise to Israel. But now, believers whether Jew or Gentile are made “one,” in the body of Christ. Eph 2:16 “And that He might reconcile both unto God in one body, by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby.” with Christ as the head of the body, that is the Church (Col 1:18). Gal 3:29 “And if ye be Christ’s, then are you Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” God’s promises of blessing are for all people whose heart is right with Him; people who have found Christ as Savior and live by a reverential fear in Him. It doesn’t matter how much might or power that a leader of a nation or any person has. It is the spirit of his heart that matters to God. 1Sam 16:7 “..for the LORD sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart. Ps 34:18 “The LORD is near unto them that are of a broken heart; and saves such as be of a contrite spirit (humble).” James 4:6 “But He gives more grace. Wherefore He says, God resists the proud, but gives grace unto the humble.” 1Pet 5:6 “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time.” ==“A person fully confident that he is able to do God’s work is often the one that fails to submit to God. It is the humble servant, fully dependent upon God, who succeeds.” Charles Stanley Jude 20-23 “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.” ==[Witness the Gospel as you live pleasing to God] “And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear” [To the unsaved: Have they kept the Ten Commandments? If not, there is a penalty of eternal death.] pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment spotted (defiled) by the flesh.” ==“Preach with this object, that men may quit their sins and fly to Christ for pardon, that by His blessed Spirit they may be renovated and become as much in love with everything that is holy as they are now in love with everything that is sinful.” Charles Spurgeon God says about one whose heart is right with Him: Psalm 91:14-16 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him, and show him My salvation." ===== 6/26/24 email with 2 documents from Ray Comfort writings == 1John 4:4 =="Ye are of God, little children and have overcome them: because Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world." == I thank you for your prayers and concern for us (Haiti: Evangelism in Action) and Haiti. And I thank all who have made contributions to help the Haitian people to get through the crisis of no government to the establishment of a new temporary governing team, to get through the shortage of and higher prices for food, supplies and gasoline and especially for the people in the prison with no food except by contributions. Along with efforts of other missionaries, on fridays, we contribute food, visit, share the gospel & pray with the 870 prisoners in the Les Cayes prison. Praise the Lord: The new Governing Team, this week has set up a process for prison management to purchase food to feed the prisoners one meal a day. == We have been so saddened for Port-au-Prince, where the Haitian people, churches and families are being displaced from their homes, some victims of rape, kidnapping and killing, as the gangs continue taking over Port-au-Prince in their reign of violence. We praise the Lord that promised help of 1000 police/soldiers have arrived, We pray for God to bring a good result for Haitian people. Praise the Lord, people can live in the rest of the country, with fairly normal, orderly lives while struggling to survive. ==Every year, in June-July, many churches including Pastor Prince's Church conduct 40 days in worship and prayer with visiting pastors and worship teams and this continues even in the crisis of the country. The people even come early to the services. They are pleading with God for His mercy on them. Also, we continue in evangelism 2-3 days a week. We were blessed to see 76 decisions in May with 4 teams participating. ==The prisoners still have needs which they have shared with us. We have distributed solar lights from a contribution by Agape Flights, where needed. Now we see the need for toothpaste, shampoo, and sandals (200-400 pair), wood and charcoal for cooking as well as ongoing need for medications and justice in the court. Many need to see an eye doctor as they request glasses. Our God has supplied so far and we trust Him to continue to do so. God has put a burden in our heart to set up a Christian place they could go when they come out of prison if they have no place to go, a place to sleep, get a meal, continue Bible lessons and learn a skill. If this is the will of God, we know He will make it a reality. Please pray for ongoing crusades set up by Pastor Prince: Cavaillon with Pastor Evans June 9-14 (finished with 7 decisions) (On evangelism in this city, 7 more people at one house professing Catholicism prayed to accept Christ); Charlotte June 28-30, Port Salut July 14-16, and the postponed Les Cayes crusade to be rescheduled. The second training in Encouraging Evangelism with La Savonn leaders (poor part of Les Cayes) is scheduled for July 1. == From studies in The Evidence Study Bible to understand and defend the faith I have enclosed 2 messages. Please read and tell me what you think. After twenty years in fair ministry evangelism and coming to Haiti at the request of Pastor Prince to help with evangelism in Haiti,10 years ago, and desiring to do the work of God sincerely, I prayed that if I was not presenting the gospel correctly, God would show me because we must do His work His way, not our own way. I believe God has been working in My life to answer that prayer while I was here in Haiti. God is with us as we submit ourselves to Him. Amen. == To Americans, I pray with you for revival in America. To Haitians, I pray with you for great revival and victory over voodoo & poverty. Other countries as well. May God bless each one. They heard a false gospel and had a false conversion, and the Bible warns that those who experience such will end up in a worse state than before their conversion 2Peter 2:20: For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. However, even more tragic than the false converts who fall away from the faith is the category of false converts who stay within the Church. They profess the Christian faith, but as statistics confirm, their hypocritical lifestyles dont match what they profess. The Bible calls them goats among the sheep The day will come when the Good Shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. The sheep (true converts) will go into everlasting life & the goats (false converts) will go into everlasting damnation (Mat 25:32-46) Here is the difference between the true gospel & the false gospel. The false message says that you should come to Christ because something is missing in your lifeyou have a God-shaped hole in your heart. God has a wonderful plan for your life. Life-improvement is not the right motivation for God to restore relationship with us guilty sinners. Jer 23:17 They say continually unto them that despise Me, The LORD has said, You shall have Peace; and they say unto everyone that walks after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you. This also is the message of modern evangelism. A blasphemous world is told that God loves them and that they can have peace with Him by asking Jesus into their heart. This is not the gospel. We must be careful to sow the pure seed of the gospel, lest we reap false converts. Ray Comfort Gods wrath abides on sinners & the only way they can make peace with a holy God is to repent and trust Jesus Christ as Lord & Savior. They must surrender to His will. The Law speaks to our conscience and brings us knowledge of sin in our heart and that we desperately need a Savior. Without the mercy of God in Christ, we will come under Gods just wrath, and end up in hell. We should come to Christ for no other reason. Had there been no perfect righteousness demanded by the Law, Jesus would not have had to suffer for our sins. Jer 24:7 And I will give them a heart to know Me, that I am the LORD: and they shall be My people, and I will be their God: for they shall return unto Me with their whole heart. This is what happens to a person at conversion when He surrenders to Jesus Christ. We who didnt know God, now know Him. He opens our blind eyes to His majesty. Nothing is the same as it was before. We are new creatures in Christ. The invasion of the Church by the world hinders the extension of Christs kingdom. In all ages conformity to the world by Christians has resulted in lack of spiritual life & a consequent lack of spiritual vision.. A socialized or self-centered church can never evangelize the world. John R. Mott/Nobel Peace Prize 11/14/46-YMCA Christianity today is man-centered not God-centered. A. W. Tozer/ 1897-1963 Here is a perfect description of the contemporary church, especially in America with its beautiful facilities, finest music & state-of-the-art technology. It has busied itself in everything but the will of God: to seek and to save the lost. It is the lukewarm contemporary church where only 2% have any concern f or the salvation of the world. The root of the problem is a lack of the fear of the Lord. Ray Comfort Unless God is pleased to grant a real revival, it will not be long ere the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people, for the light of the true gospel is rapidly disappearing. Those preachers that tell sinners that they would be saved without forsaking their idols, without repenting, without surrendering to the Lordship of Christ, are as erroneous & dangerous as others who insist that salvation is by works & that heaven must be earned by our own efforts. A.W. Pink/1886-1952 How can you serve the Lord with your lips if you do not serve Him with your lives? How can you preach His gospel with your tongues, when with your hands, feet & heart you preach the devils gospel & set up an antichrist by your practical unholiness? Charles Spurgeon/ British Preacher/ 1834-1892 All the song and dance in the world does not please God if we dont do things & live according to the Scriptures. Ray Comfort For as much as we need to convert the lost to Christianity, more & more we need to convert the Christians to Christianity. C. K. Chesterton/ English Christian Apologist/ 1874/1936 The world sleeps peacefully in the darkness of ignorance, in the prison of sin & at the same time there is the call for the flames of eternal justice. There is only one door to escape death. The Church has been entrusted with the task of awakening them before it is too late. There are only a few who run headlong into the flames to warn them to flee. Will you be one of them? Charles Spurgeon/British/ 1832-1892 If you see one hurrying on to destruction, use the utmost of your endeavor to stop him in his course. George Whitefield/ Church of England Evangelist/ 1714/1770 Would to God the Church was on fire. This world would shake in its foundation. May God wake up a slumbering church: Its not to shout Amen & clap hands but to go right to work; There will be a time to shout later. D. L. Moody/ American Evangelist/ 1837-1899 Why are so few people coming into the Kingdom? Theres not a definite effort put forth to persuade a definite person to receive a definite Savior at a definite time, and that definite time is now. Billy Sunday/ American Evangelist & National League baseball player/ 1862-193.5 God never forces His will on men. He calls them to Himself but if they will not follow Him, then God lets them have their own way. Every time we give up a part of our faith to fit into the ways of the world we lose a precious part of Gods promise a sacrifice to the world the world will never give it back. And someday when the world tells us we can no longer have our religion except where they say, and God is driven from our schools, government and homes, then Gods people can look back and know our religion was not taken from us; it was given up and handed over bit by bit until there was nothing left. Robert Sheffey in 1902 from the movie Sheffey The Church was a glorious means to the task of finishing the Great Commission. A Christian who gives his life to Christ enters into the realm of responsibility. Ps 67:1,2. God be merciful unto us and bless us; and cause His face to shine upon us. Selah. That Thy way may be known upon earth, Your salvation among all nations (God gives us salvation-we give our life back to serve Him). Missions is the chief end of the Church. Andrew Murray/ S. African theologian/ 1828/1917 Matt 5:14,16 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. God has given the Church certain principles to follow: holy living, travailing prayer and biblical preaching that He can use to usher a revival of true Christianity to this dark dying world. Ray Comfort ==doc2 What does the Bible say about the penalty for sin: The existence of Hell and the Judgment Day? Psalm 76:8-9 You did cause judgment to be heard from heaven; The earth feared and was still, When God arose to judgment, to save all the meek (oppressed) of the earth. A judgment to come is Gods justice on sin made known in the infallible Word of God. Ps 75:7 But God is the Judge: He puts down one, and exalts another. Ps 82:8 Arise, O God, judge the earth; For you shall inherit all nations. Ps 98:7-8 With trumpets and sound of cornet shout joyfully before the LORD, the King. Let the sea roar and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. Let the rivers clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together Before the LORD; for He comes to judge the earth: with righteousness shall He judge the world, and the people in uprightness. The whole of creation rejoices at the thought of God coming to judge the earth. Justice is a joy to the upright. Ray Comfort Why does God want to torture people in hell? God will not torture anyone. He will simply give them justice. A criminal who viciously raped three teenage girls may believe that his being thrown into a cold cell is torture. The judge calls it justice. God will damn rebellious sinners from all that is good in a prison called hell. He gave them life and lavished His goodness upon them, and they despised Him, violated His Law, and then refused His mercy. He is extremely kind and rich in mercy and offers complete forgiveness to all who repent and obey the gospel. Those who despise that mercy will get what the Bible calls equity or the application of natural justice or impartially doing what is right, fair and just. The Bible tells us that God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked (Ezek 33:11). His Word says that mercy triumphs over judgment (James 2:13), meaning that God would rather see someone sor- rowful and repentant and have their sins forgiven, then receive the full wrath of His justice. But if sinners remain hard and impenitent, His Word warns, But after your hardness and impenitent heart, you are treasuring up unto yourself wrath against the Day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; Who will render to every man according to his deeds (Rom 2:5-6). Sin is saying to God throughout life, Go away and leave me alone. Hell is Gods finally saying to man, You may have your wish. It is Gods leaving man to himself, as man has chosen. C. S. Lewis When someone becomes a Christian, he is admitting he was in the wrong, and that God is justified in his declarations that we have sinned against Him. However, lets assume for a moment that there is no Judg- ment Day and no hell. That would mean that the Bible is a huge hoax, in which more than 40 authors col- laborated over a period of 1,600 years to produce a document revealing Gods character as just. They portrayed Him as a just Judge, who warned that He would eventually punish murderers, rapists, liars, thieves, adulterers, etc. Each of these writers (who professed to be godly) therefore bore false witness, transgressing the very commandments they claimed to be true. It would mean that Jesus Christ was a liar, and that all the claims He made about the reality of judgment were therefore false. It would also mean that He gave His life in vain, as did multitudes of martyrs who have given their lives for the cause of Christ. Add to that the thought that if there is no ultimate justice, it means that the Creator of all things is unjust: that He sees murder and rape and couldnt care less, making Him worse than a corrupt human judge who refuses to bring criminals to justice. Heres the bad news: if the Bible is right and there is eternal justice. Paul warned in Acts 17:30,31 And the times of this ignorance God overlooked; but now commands all men everywhere to repent: Because He has appointed a day, by which He will judge the world in righteousness (and truth) by that man whom He has ordained; whereof He has given assurance unto all men, in that He has raised Him from the dead. You will find yourself standing before the judgment throne of a holy God, who knows every- thing you have ever done. A holy and perfect Creator has seen your thought-life every secret sin you have ever committed. You have a multitude of sins and God must by nature carry out justice. Is God fair? The average person has committed thousands of sins in a lifetime and is guilty before God. With the voice of his conscience, he knows it is wrong to lie, steal, commit adultery in his heart, etc. He knows intuitively that God gave him life & he is without excuse, but instead of showing any gratitude, he uses His holy name as a cuss word to express disgust. Hell is therefore his just reward if God is fair. sexual sins, the lies, the gossip and other idle words. You may have forgotten your past sins, but God hasnt. Hell will be your just penalty (exactly what you deserve), and you will have no one to blame but yourself. This is the justice of the Bible to rejoice & preach. If you dont believe it, it is still true. Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness. Psalm 90:7-12 For we are consumed by Your anger, & by Your wrath are we troubled. You have set our iniquities before You, our secret sins in the light of Your countenance. For all our days are passed away in Your wrath; we spend our years as a tale that is told. The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labor & sorrow; for it is soon cut off & we fly away. Who knows the power of Your anger? Even according to Your fear, so is Your wrath. So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom. But now, God commands all men everywhere to repent. What does He mean? ..Except you repent, you shall all likewise perish. In Ezek 18:30-32, Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, everyone according to his ways, says the Lord God: Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin. Cast away from you all your transgressions, which you have committed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: For why will you die, O house of Israel? For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dies, says the Lord God. Therefore turn and live. In 2Pet 3:9, The Lord is.. not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. We see genuine repentance in Job 42:5,6, when Job had a revelation of Gods nature and said, I have heard of Thee by the hearing of the ear; but now my eye sees Thee: Wherefore I abhor myself & repent in dust and ashes. Another example is in Ezek 20:42-43 And you shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall bring you into the land of Israel, into the country for the which I lifted up My hand to give it to your fathers. And there shall you remember your ways, an all your doings, wherein you have been defiled; and you shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that you have committed. We see in v-44 And you shall know that I am the LORD, when I have dealt with you for My names sake.. What about the judgment of God? Gods Word says in Heb 9:27, And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Yet there is good news: incredibly good news because God is not fair. We deserve judgment, but God offers us mercy: a complete pardon through the cross. Jesus paid our fine 2000 years ago, so that God (as Judge) can legally dismiss the case upon his repentance and faith in Jesus. None of his transgress- ions will be remembered. Because of Gods great mercy, He does not give us what is fair and just. Also, Jesus destroyed the power of the grave for all who obey Him. Simply obey the gospel, and live. By doing that you will discover that the gospel is indeed the gospel truth. Jesus said, He that has My commandments, and keeps them, he it is that loves Me: and he that loves Me shall be loved of My Father, and I will love him, and will reveal Myself to him. (John 14:21). And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free (John 8:32). Psalm 86:5 For Thou Lord, are good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon you. Get on your knees today, confess and forsake your sins. Tell God you are truly sorry, then put all your trust in Him as your Lord and Savior. Do we sigh at the thought of Judgment Day? Does terror grip us at the thought of guilty sinners facing the wrath of a holy God? Ezek 21:6,7 Sigh therefore, son of man, with a breaking heart, and sigh with bitterness before their eyes. And it shall be when they say unto you, Why are you sighing? That you shall answer, Because of the news; when it comes, every heart shall melt, all hands shall be feeble, every spirit shall faint, and all knees shall be as weak as water; behold, it comes and shall be brought to pass, says the Lord God. v-9-10 .. A sword, a sword is sharpened & polished: It is sharpened to make a dreadful slaughter.. For every murder & rape, God sharpens & draws back the sword of eternal justice. For every lie, for hatred, greed, lust, envy, jealousy, pride, for adultery, fornication, unbridled anger, for every idle word, Almighty God holds the sword that is wielded by the arm of the Law. Ray Comfort You blame me for weeping, but how can I help it when you will not weep for yourselves, though your immortal souls are on the verge of destruction? George Whitefield Love is necessary for zeal for the lost. Missionary zeal does not grow out of intellectual beliefs, nor out of theological arguments but out of love. Roland Allen You are not in the world for yourself. You have been sent here for others. The world is waiting for you. Catherine Booth/ Salvation Army The attitude of the average Christian today is relax and be raptured. But He is coming.. and when God gets angry youve no idea what it is.. could it be like a thousand volcanoes exploding? He has appointed a Day in which He is going to judge the world, and the poor blind world doesnt know much about it and the poor blind church doesnt think much about it now. Leonard Ravenhill You will know for certain that hell is a reality. When you get up the courage to warn people you care about, they will smile passively and say, Could you be wrong in your claims about Judgment Day and the existence of hell? ===== 2* quick Email updates in one week! == 1*July 30, 2024 Subj: Redeeming the Time:Encouraging Evangelism: Holding Forth the Word of Life: Everlasting Life Greetings Friends and Family. May God bless you, Mary Davis == 2* Mary Davis July 28 Report==Redeeming the time: "That Thy way may be known upon earth, Thy saving health (salvation) among all nations." Ps 67:2==Haiti: Evangelism in Action had no interest in prison ministry until God opened our eyes with the reality of prisoners in the prison, last year when Pastor Prince and the Church of the Assembly of the Redeemed of Jesus Christ in KaHouck prepared a meal for the 850 prisoners in 19 cells at Les Cayes Prison. Then they asked for soap so we prepared a gift bag for each one with soap, tooth brush, toothpaste, shampoo & a gospel tract. When we distributed them, we saw the destitute conditions the prisoners lived under and we knew we could not just walk away and act like we didn't know. They were supposed to get one afternoon meal a day. Those who were fortunate enough to have family nearby received another meal, but the rest, (some just skin & bone) told us they were hungry. We can not take pictures inside the prison but it was told well in Youtube: Prisons From Hell:Haiti; Madagascar. This year we have visited the prisoners cell by cell sharing the gospel. We pray for their needs and contribute when we can. When they saw we could not help with medical needs or money for personal needs or more food, they asked for bibles. So by contributions by the grace of God, we put a bible in every cell. When possible we have tried to meet other needs such as lights for dark cells, more soap supply, toothpaste, sandals. We thank Agape Flights for contributions they have given for the prisoners from donations of items they receive.Another problem is people being held in prison for months or years, without having seen a judge to have their case heard. A person could die in the prison for stealing a telephone or in 'innocence'. Since March this year, with no government in Haiti, there were no funds available to provide any food for the prisoners. We prayed with the 2nd in command (christian), Inspector Simplus for God to meet the need and God's guidance as he was responsible to provide the food for the prisoners. God did provide. We contacted everyone we knew about this need and thank you for your response in prayer or contributions. Missionaries contributed food to stretch to minimal food portions for each one each day through June. We prayed for the new government to be able to take their responsibility to provide food and our prayer was answered. There is still the need for charcoal or wood or propane and spices to cook with daily, and personal items the prisoners need and we continue to make contributions. Please pray with us that medical & eye care needs could be met. There is also the need for small personal English testaments with psalms for some who speak & read English." Most important", we told them, "is to be right with God. He is the only one who can help you. And according to the Bible, there's only one way to be right with God.""Each person must realize that we, each one of us, being dead spiritually, have sinned, in that we have broken the Ten Commandments of a holy, perfectly righteous God who is just and must punish our sin on an appointed Judgment Day, eternal death in torment or the lake of fire. It is a serious consequence of sin against a righteous God. Nothing we could do to escape this day! But praise God, our God in love extended His mercy towards us when He sent His own Son, Jesus Christ to suffer, shed His own sinless blood and die on the cross to pay all our penalty for sin. Then God won the victory over death when He raised Jesus back to life on that Easter Sunday morning! Praise the Lord! We prayerfully encourage each prisoner To come in 'repentance of sin toward God' and to call in 'faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ' to save him. (Acts 20:21). And on that Judgment Day, the righteousness of the One who paid the price for our sin would count for us. He says, "It is finished" (John 19:30). We are saved from the penalty of sin as we come to Him as our Lord and Savior by our faith in Who He is & what He has done to atone for our sin. "..Behold all things are become new" (2Cor 5:17). With more volunteers, we hope to establish more time in bible lessons with them. Ps 142:7 "Bring my soul out of prison; that I may praise Your name: the righteous shall surround me; for You shall deal bountifully with Me." 6/7/24 Prison Ministry update: Pastor Wilfrid Prince and myself were privileged to be invited to join Commissioner/ Judge Jean Luc Aujour, a Christian, who oversees six districts and their prisons in SW Haiti. He represents the new government team in these 6 jurisdictions: Les Cayes, Nippes, Aquin, Jeremie-Grande Anse, Miragane and Coteaux. They want us to partner with them in efforts of faith to improve conditions in Haitian prisons and in the lives of prisoners. Efforts are in place to release prisoners of lesser crimes to reduce overcrowding. and all cases to be heard. They are building a new school and church (later) near Camp-Perrin to train young people to live right, to respect God first, others, then themselves as future leaders in Haiti. Les Cayes Prison needs much repair or replacement. This week part of the roof fell in on prisoners. We look to the leading of God in regard to offering a Chrstian temporary place prisoners could come upon release if they have nowhere to go: a place to sleep, a meal, discipleship and skill training in their new life in Christ. "And you has He made alive (spiritually) who were dead in trespasses and sins" (Eph 2:1). We pray God's guidance in encouraging evangelism to reach more people for the Lord, and then as Christians that we work together for a better Haiti to the glory of God. As I have been in the USA, Pastor Prince continues to minister and lead participation in evangelism in SW Haiti. He just finished a crusade with 11 decisions and some of those people, without a church in their area, have asked him to plant a church for them in their area of Torbeck & hold another crusade there. This would be his third church. "He also continues with the prison ministry with Evangelist Pastor Gerald Carisme. Some generous person gave each prisoner 200 goude and he helped them obtain soap & toothpaste and had prayer with them. Enclosed is a kind reference to the prison ministry from Agape Flightline. If you would like to help make the after prison mission a realty, please contact me through this email. We can make a difference and help the prisoners become God-abiding believers. "Or maybe, God would touch your heart to help Pastor Prince build the new church inside the Torbeck area. Another ongoing project we are praying for is Judge AuJour's school near Camp-Perrin to train young people to live right, to respect God first, ohers, then themselves as future leaders of Haiti. God is working in the lives of these poorest of people and we can be part of that work by presence or prayer." James 2:5 "Hearken. my beloved brethren. Mary == September 8 TBC Report (~9Minutes) Thank you Pastor Rowley and members of Truth Baptist Church For the opportunity to tell about what God is doing through the hardship of the people of Haiti in the midst of ongoing violence and corruption. -- I thank the Lord for introducing me 'to the people of Haiti and developing in me a compassion for them. You might say,'What can I do?' Nothing. Jn 15:5 ..He that abides in Me, and I in him, the same brings forth much fruit: for without Me you can do nothing. The key to ministry is to be yielded to our sovereign God and to be yielded to His perfect will, His way, which is what I seek. What do I do in Haiti? 1.Evangelism After 2 short-term mission trips to SW Haiti, Haitian Pastor Prince invited me to assist in evangelism in Haiti. Here is amap of our ministry area: inner community of Houck, Torbeck area and city of Les Cayes. Pastor Prince provides transportation & direction and translates for me to share the gospel: door to door, hut to hut or on the street; and later to give seminars encouraging evangelism, providegospel tractsandBibles, and then providing crusades.A crusade went on this past week in Torbeck for a group of new converts who want Pastor Prince to plant a church there, his third church. -- 2.Haiti: Evangelism in Action It is our name and our website which needs up-to-date management. We have been blessed as God adds to our evangelistic team. Prayerfully, this is a ministry that requires forward vision for a young couple or single men who have theconviction of Godtocarry onthis evan-gelistic ministry ina difficult place' with a Haitian team. -- 3. Evangelism in Les Cayes Prison Haiti Evangelism in Action Team has started to share the Gospel in the Les Cayes Prison of 850 prisoners in 19 cells. The cells are under cover in a horseshoe shape. We walk out in the sun to each one. -- We saw the destitute conditions in which the prisoners are kept: Many sharing 1 bed in shifts, primitive toileting conditions and only 1 meal a day unless they had family to bring them food, toiletries or clothes. They beg us for food. Haiti prisons are some of the 'worst' on earth. -- In February when there was no government in Haiti, there was no process in place to provide food to feed the prisoners: Some of these hadmade decisions for Christ. There are 30 teenagers and 30 women. There.Inspector Simplus, in charge of operations told us, he didn't know what to do! We prayed with him. How could I turn my back to this needy situation that God showed me? We alerted other missionar-ies and everyone I knew. I received some contributions from US and contributed myself. German missionaries, Johannes and Luise Scherer received contributions from Germany and contributed,as well as others. We brought in the contributionsand prayed itwould get them through each week. When I was very low in resources first of June, then I prayed, "Please Lord, let the new government take their responsibility to feed the prisoners. "and they did that week." Now I was free to go home -- We had metJudge Au/jour, who is over 6 areas & courts of SW Haiti & we have been invited to work with him to make things better/fair in the prisons. Lord willing, we hope to provide a mission, a place where the prisoners can go temporarily, when they get out of prison, for a place to sleep, for a meal, discipleship and skill training, that, one day they might become respectable Christians in the community. My email for updates is: mary4haiti@gmail.com. Thank you Patrick Lanyon for assistance in preparing this presentation. == 10/6/24 Thank you for prayers for a safe return back to Haiti. God answered those prayers and I thank Him. I was glad to see many of you this summer. That is another answer to prayer. You are in my prayers too. May God richly bless you all. After I arrived, Thursday evening, I learned part of the roof had fallen in on 3 cells before I joined in our Friday prison ministry of bible message, requests and prayer. Many told us how hungry they were and we found out later that the authorization to acquire food from Port-au-Prince did not come through, and there was again no food to feed the prisoners. Some cell leaders have requested hymn books which shows the importance of their worship of God. I contributed what I had to buy bags of rice. Very few have family to support them. I wanted to address this with Judge AuJour, who when he returns intends to process the release of those that are in prison for lesser crimes. Please pray for the people in Haiti without food and the end of the gang violence on the people of Haiti. The good news is the continued evangelism team with 36 decisions in the LaSavann area of Les Cayes and 3 additional decisions in the prison in the month of September. We know we must be active in evangelism while we have time. Enclosed is a photo of our growing evangelism team. Psalm 72:11 "Yea, all kings shall fall down before Him: all nations shall serve Him, v-12 For He shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and him that has no helper. v-13 He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.[Amen and Amen.] v-14 He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in His sight. v-17 His name shall endure for ever: His name shall be continued as long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in Him: all nations shall call Him blessed; v-18 Blessed be the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things. v-19 And blessed be His glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with His glory == Nov 1 report Together we can praise the Lord for all answers to prayer for our country and His work around this globe. Active in evangelism, *we have seen 61 decisions in October for the Lord, *structuring and discipleship conference of the New Assembly of the Redeemed of Jesus Christ Church in Gracette (part of Torbeck) with Pastor Omane, *a trip along the coast to assist a church in Chardoniere in evangelism (5 decisions) as well as taking Gospel tracts to churches in Coteaux, Port-a-Piment, Chardoniere and Les Anglais for evangelism. We appreciate prayers for *the annual evangelism in Les Cayes Nov 1 & 2 and 18. We pray many hearts will be turned to God during that time. In regard to *ministry in Les Cayes Prison, it has been difficult but not too difficult for God. Food sent for prisoners was stolen by Port-au-Prince gangs and no food orders have been authorized. It has been necessary to contribute food each week for the 800 prisoners as we go in to share Scripture and pray for them. We now have 2 teams to witness to them in 17 cells. Then [last time we visited] *they all needed soap and toothpaste and many needed toothbrushes. Again we did what we could. *Many needed sandals, shirts and shorts we were not able to provide. When we are out on evangelism, *released prisoners run up and thank us for praying for them while they were in prison.. PTL. Good news: There is to be *a prison baptism on Nov 15. ==Photo 1 temporary site of New Church. ==Photo 2,3,4 evangelism and discipleship at New Church. ==Photo 5 Taking tracts to church pastors on the coast. ==Photo 6 Evangelism team for Church in Chandoniere. ==Photo 7 Bible conference at New church. God's blessings as we live for Him. Mary ===== 11/22/24 == "Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise with psalms. Psalm 95:2 ==The more serious situation a person is in, the more thankful we are for every blessing we know comes from our Lord God. And that is certainly true here in Haiti We praise the Lord for means to survive here and continue in ministry to bring more people to Him for His glory. I am thankful for Evangelism Team and Prison Ministry Team God has developed here. We thank the Lord for Agape Flight Ministry and provision of Thanksgving meal they provided. I Just turned 78 and am experiencing some further health problems. My flight to America for Christmas has been cancelled because of FAA restrictions but I believe God will give me another one. My awareness of problems of Haitians is increasing too. I praise the Lord that He has a great plan and we just need to be content in the part He gives us in it. Please pray for our upcoming Bible conference on the fundamental truths of the Christian faith to be held on the Lasavan Beach Nov 30. It will conclude with the message I am attaching today. This message teaches the basis of success in America was their faith in God and practice of it. This truth could be realized in America again or any other country including Haiti. God has given America another chance. Will they see it or lose it? Our prison ministry continues. They have many needs we try to help with including some needing medical attention. One man was deported from America and does not know why he was put in the prison. He now suffers with an extended stomach. On Nov 15, we were blessed to see 26 prisoners baptized upon faith in Jesus Christ and hear 4 of their testimonies. This was through Haiti Prison Ministry. We pray more churches would participate because Jesus said when we visit the prisoner, we did it unto Him. Ps 112 v1 Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is the man that fears the Lord, that delights greatly in His commandments. v2 His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. v7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. v9 He has dispersed, he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever. His strength shall be exalted with honor." Thank you for prayers. Mary == 11/29/24 [her message:] Subject: Je partage For all nations from The American Covenant avec vous == [9 pgs!] jpg images posting for those with formating problems: www.aprayernotebook.net/each1helps1/photos/24k29'Message'/ [1of9 ... 9of9] Notes for America and all nations from The American Covenant The Untold Story by Marshall Foster 1. Biblical Foundations: Gen 1:1 In the beginning, God.. The Lord declares His sovereignty, preexistence and oneness. When He makes man, Gen 1:26-28, He says Let Us make man in Our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion..Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it.. God gives a world- encompassing commission to care for His creation. Christ says: Luke 19:13 Occupy til I come. Satans defeat is promised through the death and resurrection of Christ (Gen 3:15). When Cain and Abel offered the first fruits of their labor to God, they declared Gods ownership of the earth and their desire to be good stewards of it. After the flood, God repeated the dominion mandate to Noah. Gen 9:1-4. Just as men lost sight of their unique God-created individuality after the fall, men changed dominion into domin- ation over their fellowmen. They destroyed with war. They forgot the one God and bowed to other gods. God communicated with mankind in covenants and made a covenant with one faithful man, Abraham. God said in Gen 12:3, In you shall all families be blessed. It was Gods intention that Abraham and his descendants would bring the unbelieving world back to God, restoring a right relationship between the individual and His Lord. In Ps 8:4-6 God revealed to individuals their importance in His divine plan What is man, that You are mindful of him?.. You made him to have dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet. God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob preserved our forefathers as they covenanted to establish a Nation for His honor. To prepare His people for their task, God gave them His Law, His prophets and His presence. Deut 14:21 For you are a holy people unto the LORD our God. Gal 3:8. The laws of America have presupposed the Bible as the foundation of our representative government from the beginning. Josh 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Ps 112:1-2 How blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who greatly delights in His command- ments. His descendants will be mighty on earth; the generation of the upright will be blessed. God has acted through history to spiritually renew entire generations in times of impending crisis. Biblical history: Deuteronomy speaks to a new generation and relates how their fathers died in the wilderness, having forgotten Gods Law and their covenants. Deut 5:15 And Remember that you were a servant in the land of Egypt, and that the LORD your God brought you out through a mighty hand and by a stretched-out arm.. But instead of following Gods plan of self-government under His Law, they demanded to be ruled by a king. Instead of transforming a pagan world, they conformed to its view of men. Heedless of the warnings of their prophets, Israel was taken captive by a pagan people. But during the darkest days of the Babylon-ian captivity, the prophet Jeremiah predicted that one day, the Lord will write His Law on the hearts of His people by the presence of the Holy Spirit (Jer 31:33). Christ entered a dying world as the author of a new and imperishable life. Robert C Winthrop, statesman, gave warning in 1849, facing civil war, turn back to the Bible or face catastrophe Men may as well build their houses upon the sand and expect to see them stand, when the rains fall, and the winds blow, and the floods come, as to found free institutions upon any other basis than that of morality and virtue, of which the Word of God is the only authority. Page1 2. In the Reformation, Calvin shaped our republic with a Biblical theology of the sinfulness of all men and recognized that only by Gods sovereign grace could man be redeemed. His teaching emphasized the laws of God, the priesthood of believers (as opposed to a priestly class in authority over the many), and the covenantal character of Gods government resting on the truth of Gods sovereignty over every sphere of life. With availability of a Bible, people were restored to the knowledge of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and gained liberty of conscience and as self-governing Christians, rose to challenge political tyrants. As Reformation puritan converts, they left Great Britan and fled to Holland and then to the new world of America to worship God freely as they learned from the Bible. 3. America Makes a Covenant with God. The self-governing Christians or Pilgrims on the Mayflower made a covenant with God and wrote the Mayflower Compact: In the name of God, Amen. We whose names are underwritten, the loyal subjects of our dread sovereign Lord, King James, by the grace of God, of Great Britain, France and Ireland, king, defender of the faith, having undertaken for the glory of God and advancement of the Christian faith, and honor of our king and country, a voyage to plant the first colony in the Northern parts of Virginia, do by these presents solemnly and mutually in the presence of God and of one another, covenant and combine ourselves together into a civic body politic, for our better ordering & preserva- tion and furtherance of the ends aforesaid; and by virtue hereof to enact, constitute and frame such just and equal laws, ordinances, acts, constitutions and offices, from time to time, as shall be thought most meet and convenient for the general good of the colony, unto which we promise all due submission and obedience. In witness whereof we have hereunder subscribed our names at Cape Cod, Nov 11, 1620. The Declaration of Independence ends with the acknowledgement of the sovereignty of God, in which the Founders covenanted together to form a nation: And for the support of this declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor. July 4, 1776 God blessed America because our forefathers built their Nation with reliance on Him and His Word in covenants Deut 7:9 Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love Him & keep His commandments to a thousand generations. They also knew that if they broke their covenant with God instead of walking in His loving ways, Gods favor would be withdrawn, personal and national calamity would befall them. 4. The Self-Governing Christian: Saved by faith in Christ; freed from Bondage of Sin and Guilt. Yes! 2000 years ago, Almighty God unleashed the most powerful world-changing force on the world. Jesus restates Gods original and unchanging purpose for mankind by expressing His love for each indi- vidual in the parable of the lost sheep: Luke 15:7 Likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repents, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance. 2Pet 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is long- suffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. Not Humanistic individualism of a man-centered universe, with no moral absolutes to control man which leads to anarchy but Christian individuality of a God-centered universe with the individual controlled by Gods laws, he has all the power to subdue Gods earth to His glory. Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for you are all one in Christ Jesus. They are from all nations and walks of life expanding Gods kingdom in covenant with Him. Page2 5. Our Nation was established as a Christian Nation because it was founded on the Christian view of man and government. George Washington: True religion offers the government its surest support. Biblical Christianity, lived out in the lives of individuals and institutions, has brought the greatest degree of liberty, prosperity, creativity and peace that the world has known. Jesus never called for an external theocracy but offered freely an internal transformation of life that would lead to exter- nal transformations of society and to a better life for all. We have learned that self-government begins first with the individual aligning himself with the will of God, then caring for himself and others and applying Biblical principles to all areas of his life. He is progressively proving: 1Jn 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world.. He is not dominated by the world, he shapes it according to Gods will. Missionaries must not only bring the verbal Gospel of salvation, which is primary. We must also communicate and exemplify the Biblical principles of a Christian nation. 6. Samuel Adams in 1790 encouraged the study and practice of the virtues that produced the people who formed our Nation. The Ten Commandments were Gods standard for moral purity. He said, He therefore is the truest friend to the liberty of his country who tries most to promote its virtue, and who, so far as his power and influence extend, will not suffer a man to be chosen into any office of trust who is not a wise and virtuous man.. If a democracy is to succeed, it must rest on a strong moral base. 7. It is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the Providence of Almighty God. to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore His protection and favor. Ps 78:5-8 He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a Law in Israel, which He commended our fathers to teach to their children that the next generation might know them, the children yet unborn, andrise and tell them to their children, so that they should set their hope in God and not forget the works of God but keep His commandments; and not be a rebellious or unfaithful.generation. Historical founding documents reveal references to faith in the Providential hand of God passed directly to them from the Reformers. A. George Washington testified By the miraculous care of Providence, that protected me beyond all human expectations; I had four bullets through my coat, and two horses shot from under me, and yet escaped unhurt. B. The Fundamental Orders of Connecticut (1683), Americas first constitution Preamble, For as much as it has pleased the Almighty God by the wise disposition of His divine Providence so to order and dispose of things.. became pattern for the American Constitution C. Providential landing of the Mayflower, at Cape Cod: bound for Virginia, blown hundreds of miles off course to Cape Cod where they discovered Plymouth, safe since fierce Patuxet tribe was wiped out by a plague. D. A special man sent by God: Squanto, a survivor of Patuxet tribe. Previously kidnapped and taken to England, fluent in English, helped the Pilgrims at Plymouth as an interpreter for peace treaty with Wampanoag chief, Massasoit which lasted fifty years and was converted to Christianity. E. In 1746, New England stood still in fasting and prayer and saw the salvation of God when an attacking French fleet was shattered by storms. F. The hand of God rescued George Washingtons army, when trapped by English General Howe. Under cover of fog, Washington successfully evacuated 8000 troops by night, All people must see that the God of the Bible controls history, acts in history through Providential events to show forth His Glory. Isa 43:7 Even everyone that is called by My name, I have created Him for My glory. 1Cor 10:31 ..do all to the glory of God. The Providential View of History *Creation *Birth of Christ *Gods Controlling *Christs 2nd Coming *Fullness of Gods Purpose Gen 1:1 Matt 1:18-25 Course of History Rev 19:11 20:4 1Cor 15:24-28. Page3 8. Americans have forgotten our covenant our response to the Purpose of God. We just stopped teaching the Bibles nation-building principles to ourselves and our children The decline in America would never have come to pass if Amerian Christians had known the distinctively Christian nature of our government, and had not turned our backs on our heritage and had not stepped aside into a purely personal religion, leaving government to secular humanists. George Washington said in his Inaugural Speech, The propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal order and right, which Heaven itself has ordained. He warns that the success of our one-of-a-kind experiment in liberty rests upon our obedience to eternal laws. Abraham Lincoln said, Those who fight the purpose of the Almighty will not succeed. They always have been, always will be, beaten. President Harry Truman spoke against John Deweys progressive socialist education in 1950: The fundamental basis of this nations laws was given to Moses on the Mount.. If we dont have a fundamental moral background, we will end up with no rights for anyone but the state. President Ronald Reagan warned, if we ever forget that we are One Nation under God, than we will be a nation gone under. th Can We Win? JC Ryle, 19 century theologian says, The world before and after the introduction of Christianity was as different as light and darkness. It was Christianity that starved idolatry, elevated the position of women, raised the whole tone of morality and improved the condition of children and the poor. When Protestant Christians came to America, they worshipped God, and His Son, Jesus Christ, as the Savior of the world and acknowledged the Scriptures to be the rule of their faith & practice. They introduced their religion into their families, schools, and colleges. They abstained from all ordinary business on the Lords Day to devote it to religion. They built churches, erected schoolhouses, and taught their children to read the Bible to obey as the Word of God. They formed themselves into municipal and state organizations. They acknowledged God in their legislative assemblies and declared Christianity to be part of the commn Law of the land. All people were allowed equal rights and privileges to acquire property, vote and worship as they please. Now, the infidel demands that government be conducted on the principle that Christianity is false. The Atheist demands that it should be conducted on assumption that there is no God. New textbooks deprive the American Republic of the incentive to participate in public affairs. There is only one force strong enough to combat tyrants and to help us heal what divides us. That force is the self-governing Christian who lives by the Word of God and loves God and his neighbor. 9. The Enemy of God speaks up. *Ideas determine consequences. An idea right or wrong that cap- tures the minds of a Nations youth will work its way into every area of society. Over the last century, the ideas of a few become dominant philosophy in America. Socialism: Karl Marx 1905; and in 1941, John Dewey promoting Progressive Education. They see man as an economic unit caught in a class struggle between the haves and have nots. From Friedrich Nietzsche and Arnold Toynbee came views of pessimism and determinism. Since all of life is an endless repetition of birth and death, many college students say, There is no meaning to individual existence. Lost in a fatalistic, universal cycle, they deny the sovereignty of God & His Word. Communism and Marxism, believe all authority comes from the state not God. That affects all the other God-ordained spheres of human life: family, church, society. But God has providentially placed us in a time when we can not only expose the failures of the humanistic worldview, but offer an historically proven Scripturally sound Christian faith. Page4 10. Our economic and political future rests in our own hands, through our obedience to God. As we, renew our Covenant with God and with each other, to protect our God-given natural rights: life, liberty, property, together with the right to support and defend them in the best manner they can. For those who are experiencing Gods hand of judgment: In Rev 2:4-5 Jesus told the Church at Ephe- sus, they had abandoned their first love. Remember from what heights we have fallen, Repent and ask Gods forgiveness, and Repeat the deeds done at first. Then we can Reverse our present downward spiral and become once again a shining light to the nations. We must ponder the price we have paid for not maintaining our Christian heritage of liberty. Will we lose it? Is there a plan for individuals and Nations to be free? Isa 61:1; Lk 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor: He has sent Me to heal the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised (oppressed). Awaken America. Deep within the American character including those leaning toward socialism, there lingers a Christian conscience ready to be revived by the Spirit of God. We as a Nation have been used to spread the message of Christ to the world to build a biblically based civilization expanding in Asia, in Africa, and in Central and South America. Now a new day is dawning. 11. Prov 29:18 Where there is no vision the people perish. As we repair our own nation and put it in order, we shall then be in a position to reach other nations with Gods will for them through salvation in Christ. Every Nation can be a Nation under God if it chooses to follow Jesus Christ A Knowledge of Gods Hand in history assures us: Ps 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD Prov 14:34 Righteousness exalts a nation, but when the wicked sin is a reproach to any people. Prov 29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked bear rule, the people mourn. 2Chron 7:14 If My people, which are called by My name, Shall humble themselves, And Pray, and Seek My face, and Turn from their wicked ways; Then will I hear from heaven, and Will Forgive their sin, and Will heal their land. What will save a Nation? Its us, when we seek God, Hold forth His Word; Live our faith as we love Him with all our heart and love others before ourselves; and tell His Gospel that will bring people to Him. Our hope is in God. Ps 2:10-12 The Bible teaches that every nation is called upon to obey Christ: Be wise now therefore, O you kings: Be instructed ye judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and ye perish from the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Either a Nation will build itself upon a foundation of Gods Word or create for itself destruction by kind- ling the Sons wrath. Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him. In Matt 28:19-20 Jesus gives us orders to teach all Nations ..to obey all that He has commanded 12. Strategy Of Success 1. We Must Know our Goal! 1Pet 4:11 If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God gives: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. 2. We Must Know our Assets: Lk 14:28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sits not down and counts the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish. Jesus Christ gave us His Spirit and His Word and said Jn 14:12 Greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. 3. We must Know the chain of critical events needed to accomplish a goal Prov 4:23 For from the heart come the issues of life Change the hearts of men) then the external results (liberty, justice, love) would follow. Page5 Step 1. The Self-Governing Individual Christian is Gods Building Block for a Christian Nation Prov 25:28 A man without self-control is like a city broken into and left without walls. In 1654, Hugo Grotius, a Dutch diplomat and theologian stated, He knows not how to rule a kingdom that cannot manage a Province; nor can he wield a Province that cannot order a City; nor he order a City that knows not how to regulate a Village; nor he a Village that cannot a Family; nor can that man Govern well a Family that knows not how to Govern himself; neither can any Govern himself unless his reason be Lord, Will and Appetite her vassals: nor can Reason rule unless herself be ruled by God, and wholly be obedient to Him. The Founders understood that dependence upon God was the only true insurance that the sin nature of man could be restrained and his great potential for good unleashed. Come to the one true God by faith in Jesus Christ. Jn 8:36 If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.United with the Word of God and faith, the Christian will do all that his Lord has commanded. There are those who say, All you can do is pray. One pastor asked another if he had any farmers in his church and he said he did. Then he said, Why dont we go back to our churches and tell our farmers not to plant their spring crops, but to simply pray & believe; if its Gods will, we will have a great harvest in the fall. Yes, prayer is important, but if we do not sow our seeds into every area of life, we will have no harvest to reap but the destruction of our liberty and the rise of totalitarianism. Step 2. The Self-Governing Christian Family The most important institution for the saving and preserving of the world is the family. The destruction of the family, as in this generation, is a sure sign of impending cultural collapse. The Christian self-govern- ing home of godly dominion is the hope for the future of the nation. God ordained the family institution in Genesis chapter 1, and throughout the Bible He gives their responsibilities for the care of its members, and the education and discipline of its children in religious and moral values. Ps 127:3-4 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the and of a warrior are the children of ones youth. If we, the Christian parents in America, would make the sacrificial decision to send our children to quality Bible-based private schools or home schools, the battle for our nation would be well on the road to victory. We who have the means must develop scholarship funds to help those who cannot afford it. The curriculum must reflect the godly educational philosophy of our Founding Fathers and should train our youth to be self-governing citizens of this great land. The Bibles strategy for successful child training is Deut 6:4-12 [Shema] 1. Know God: Deut 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, is one LORD. 2. Love the Lord: Deut 6:5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. Parents are then ready to share Gods view of the world through their sincere love and faith for Him. 3. Teach Gods Truth to your Children: Deut 6:6-7 And these words, which I command you this day, shall be in your heart; And you shall teach them diligently unto your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. 4. Mark yourself and your home with obedience to Gods Law: Deut 6:8-9 And you shall bind them for a sign upon your hand and they shall be as frontlets before your eyes, You shall write them upon the doorposts of your house and on your gates. 5. Expect Blessings for 1000 Generations: Deut 6:10-12 Here is a promise of blessings that follows obedience that by faith obey God. We must teach our children the sacrifice of our fathers that ensured our liberty and the Providence of God in the founding of our nation in order to give them hope for the future. Page6 Step 3. The Self-Governing Church Jesus of Nazareth, without money or arms, conquered more millions than Alexander, Caesar, Mohammed or Napoleon; without science and learning,He shed more light on things human and divine than all the philosophers and scholars combined; without the eloquence of the school, He spoke words of life such as were never spoken before, nor since, and produced effects which lie beyond the reach of orator or poet. Without writing a single line, He has set more pens in motion and furnished themes for more sermons, orations, discussions, works of art, learned volumes, and sweet songs of praise than the whole army of great men of ancient and modern times. Born in a manger and crucified as a malefactor, He now controls the destinies of the civilized world and rules a spiritual empire which embraces one-third of.. the globe. Jesus Christ and His Army of Compassion: the Ecclesia is permeating and reconciling the world to God. God was in Christ, reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them and has committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 2Cor 5:19. The covenantal role of the Church was bound members together in the body of Christ to meet obligations of regular sustenance and mutual care for others in need. The believing Church in America makes up many different denominations. Now there is a growing realization that these local fellow-ships are the key to rebuilding our Nation and reaffirming our covenant with God. We begin by training of study groups or Sunday School classes in our Christian heritage and Biblical base for their task in the world. Pilgrim Pastor, John Robinson taught: The Lord Jesus Christ is the King of His Church alone, upon whose shoulders the government is, and unto whom all power is given in heaven and earth But Christ has committed this power to His Church, anointing all men as kings & priests. Each member functions as a king by guiding and governing himself in the ways of godliness and as a priest by offering up prayers, praises, and thanksgiving.1Tim 3:5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?) Someone or few must needs be appointed over the assembly [for].. discussing and determining of all matters, so in this royal assembly, the Church of Christ, though all be kings, yet some most faithful and most able, are to be set over the rest.. [and] charged.. to minister according to the Testament of Christ. 1Pet 5:3 Neither as being lords over Gods heritage, but being examples to the flock. The New Testament churches were admonished to choose elders and deacons [representatives] based on 1Timothy 3 and Titus 1:6-9. Step 4. Self-Governing Charitable Free Enterprise When properly prepared with Gods principles of property, and stewardship, the Christian be- liever is the most productive resource in the world. In past history, he has been the driving force behind the industrial Revolution, the rise of modern science, and the great American prosperity that flowed from Reformation principles. This miracle of productivity is called the Biblical work ethic: a sense of duty to God to do honest work and to pursue excellence in work. Today, the Christian believers role is to obey Gods principles of economics, wisely investing what God has given him to provide the finan- cial base needed to restore our land and take the Gospel to the world. If many Christians would begin to tithe to Christian schools, hospitals, businesses and social agencies, It would show the world what God can do through individuals committed to Him. Step 5. The Genius of the American Republic Our Constitution First Amendment says Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. They never envisioned a secular State where Gods moral laws would be deliberately denied leaving our Republic in state of separation from religion, prohibiting prayer, Bible reading and the right to express convictions. Page7 Rom 13:1-4 Scripture clearly teaches that God is sovereign over all, but He has delegated limited authority to the Family, the Church, and the State. The government has through the ages tended to usurp and dominate by force the God-given responsibilities of the Family and the Church. Civil government in America must shrink to its Biblical and Constitutional function: to protect the lives, liberties and estates of the citizens in 1Tim 2:2 ..that we may lead a quiet and peaceable llife. The person is under the government to be protected, cared for and nurtured just as he who chooses a shepherd for his flock remains its owner. Deut 17:18-20 [The King] when he sits on the throne of his kingdom shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests and Levites: and it shall be with him and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes to do them: that his heart not be lifted up above his brethren and that he not turn aside from the commandment to the right or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom and his children.. This is Gods rule. The king was only given kingly authority on this condition, that he observe the law of God. All civil rule was representative and was always accountable to Gods absolute dominion. It was covenantal and bound the ruler to honor God in Commandment 1-4 and to serve man in Commandment 5-10 in justice united with charity. Ps 103:17-18 But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear Him, and His righteousness unto the childrens children; to such as keep His covenant, and to those that remember His commandments to do them. Our government works by the principles of the 3 Pillars of our Constitution: First Pillar: A Phenomenon in the world: The Principle of Representation1. A Republican government is a commonwealth or state in which the exercise of the sovereign powers is given to representatives elected by the people who represent each individual's rights. It wasnt to be a democratic state, in which the people exercise the powers of sovereignty, in person, or representing the will of the majority when it tramples on the rights of the individual. a. A Bible must get into the hands of individuals to give them the desire for liberty and ability, skills and wisdom needed for self-government which in turn safeguards liberty. b. A land had to be provided that was separated from Old World despotism of monarchs and skepticism. c. A people had to be prepared who shared a Biblical worldview of the nature of man and government. Only in a Christian Republic will the liberty of conscience and freedom to prosper be guaranteed. In 1638, Rev Thomas Hooker taught Deut 1:9 I am not able to bear you myself alone: and 1:13 Take you wise men, and understanding, and known among your tribes, and I will make them rul- ers over you. v-14 you answered me,.. The thing which you have spoken is good for us to do. He said, the foundation of authority is laid.. in the free consent of the people and that the choice of public mag- istrates belongs unto the people by Gods own allowance. They have the right also to set the bounds and limitations of the power and place unto which they call them. His sermon points formed the basis of the Fundamental Orders of Connecticut later adopted as the Constitution of Connecticut Jan 14, 1639. It marked the beginnings of American democracy and was pattern for the Federal Constitution, following the pattern Mosess father-in-law Jethro said in Ex 18:21-22, Moreover you shall provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.. every great matter they shall bring to you, but every small matter they shall judge and bear the burden with you. Page8 Second Pillar: Separation of Powers: God gave the model; He limits the power of government by His own authority. Isaiah 33:22 For the LORD is our Judge; the LORD is our Lawgiver; the LORD is our King; He will save us. Dr. Samuel Langdon was chosen to address New Hampshires legislature to ratify the US Constitution, patterned after the divine constitution of Moses and the decentralized republic of the ancient Hebrews 1400 B.C. It was a pattern to the world in all ages for any Nation desiring freedom and prosperity. The Israelites were transformed from a band of disorderly families coming out of bondage from Egypt into self-governing, orderly tribes of a national establishment perfected far beyond all other kingdoms. Before the Hebrew tribes arrived at Mt. Sinai, Moses instructed them to elect character-filled leaders at the local level [Ex 18]. These rulers were to be competent, godly, and honest and would refuse bribes. Second, at Mt Sinai, God graciously gave His people a few concise but perfect laws that would protect life, families, personal freedoms, private property, and personal reputations without partiality: [Ex 20] the Ten Commandments and other laws. God did not leave a people, wholly unskilled in legislation, to make laws for themselves. The Lord lovingly created a representative constitutional republic with maximum freedom and no need for an earthly king. This plan has liberated millions of people from bondage. Third, a basic structure of this Hebrew republic was detailed: [A Senate] was constructed, as necessary for the future government of the nation, under a chief commander [Executive Branch]. The people were consulted, the whole congregation [House of Representatives] being called together on all important occasions: the government was therefore a proper republic. Courts were to be appointed.. and elders most distinguished for wisdom and integrity were to be made judges [Judicial Branch]. Dr. Langdon explained that the proposed US Constitution mirrored the divinely inspired Hebrew republic. *The integrity of all three powers of government depends upon the integrity of the self-governing individual and on the foundation of the body politic, the laws of God or the laws of men Third Pillar: A Dual Form of Government answers how Unity and Diversity Exist in Harmony at o ne time upon the same individuals, harmonious with each other, but each supreme in its own sphere It is a dual system of government with States retaining most powers and Federal Government having only those powers necessary for its sphere of authority. Conclusion The untold story of the American Covenant began with a group of Christians who met together off the coast of New England, covenanting with their God. Out of their covenant with God and their willingness to apply his Word to all areas of life came a Biblically based republic that has promoted the greatest expansion of the Gospel in the history of man. Through the acknowledgment of Gods Providence in American history, they reaffirmed the American Covenant. Only if we are willing to have the faith will we be able to restore the Nation they built. We must support capable, godly individuals for elective office to lead our society who support our Biblical view of man and government through strength of character and financial resources. The battle must be one from the internal to the external. Our Biblical government cannot be forced from without but rises from within the hearts of a people dedicated to Gods will. In a world without God, there is very little hope, but because a loving God presides over the affairs of men, Deut 7:9 Know therefore that the LORD your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love Him & keep His commandments to a thousand generations. Dec 15, 2024 Email. (Post her mini stroke symptoms.) Luke 2:11 "For unto you is born this day in the city of David, a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord." Dear familyand friends, Thank you for prayer and support to our evangelistic work in Haiti. God blessed our evangelistic efforts in November with 137 decisions for Christ and some new church teams that joined us as we provided them with gospel tracts. We continued in prison ministry with gifts of food and toiletries before my return to Florida for some recovery time after a stroke mid-November. I praise the Lord for a safe trip backalthough very challenging. I pray for my return to Haiti with others who feelled to join the work. We hope to open a small radio station to broadcast an appeal for people to be saved, live the Christian life and win others to the kingdom of God as Christ gave us commission to do, to tell that the Savior of the world has come whose birth we celebrate at this time. John 4:29, 39-42 "After the witness of the Samaritan woman at the well, whenshe met Jesus and told the men of the city, Come see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: Is this not the Christ? Many believed. They sought and asked Jesus to tarry with them. Jesus abode with them 2 days. Many more believed because of His own word, They said, WE have heard Him ourselves, and know that this indeed is the Christ, the Saviour of the world. And if we believe and know that Christ, the Saviour of the world has come, should we not tell others, that they could tooknowof the Saviour of the world and be saved from the penalty of their sins on the judgment day? and experience His grace in this life accordingto His perfect will? Our God is calling us back to right relationship with Himself and His righteousness in all areas of our lives. Will we yield to His call? Merry Christmas.
