Did you know that the film used in a movie is actually comprised of thousands upon thousands of individual still pictures? When these pictures are shown in the correct sequence, they produce the effect of real-life motion, and the story is able to unfold correctly. What do you suppose would be the effect of taking those individual film frames and shuffling them like a deck of cards? The imagery and acting would be the same, even the length of the show would remain the same, but something would be lost, the essence of time sequence.
In many ways, studying the Bible can be like watching a movie of jumbled film frames. Moses who lived a long time after creation wrote about the creation. Job, who they say lived a long time before Moses, did not say anything about creation, and his book is after Moses’. Isaiah, who lived and wrote after Solomon told about how God kicked Satan out of heaven before Adam and Eve were created. And Daniel, who lived many years before Christ, wrote about the final seven years we call the Tribulation, which is still in the future. Wouldn’t it be great if someone organized all of these events into the sequence in which they occurred? Well, someone has. A man named Edward Reese.
