A text of the email sent out after he entered the hospital:

"Dear friends of Bernie,
He has enjoyed immensely these ninety years, and especially the last half dozen.
I'm sending this for any who would like to know.
His family will appreciate your prayers and love.

Attached are two pictures taken with my treo, one with O2 mask and one away. Gown and gloves are required.

Kim is here and I expect tomorrow (Friday) will be "her day" with him. He told me he's going to give her a bear hug she won't forget ;-) He still has his claw grip!

Please remember him, and all the family in special ways these days.
